Terms of Service

Welcome to MeowDB. By accessing or using meowdb.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. About MeowDB

MeowDB is an unofficial, non-commercial, community-run fan site for MapleStory Classic Worlds. MeowDB is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nexon Co., Ltd. All MapleStory game content, names, characters, sprites, and assets are the property of Nexon and are used here under fair use for the purpose of fan commentary, education, and community discussion.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 if you are in the European Union) to create an account on MeowDB. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. User Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for any activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account information up to date.
• You may not share, sell, or transfer your account.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting contact@meowdb.com.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use MeowDB to:

• Post, upload, or share content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or sexually explicit
• Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Spam, vote-manipulate, or attempt to abuse the polls, quest tracker, or any other site feature
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, server, or network connected to the Site
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access or collect data from the Site without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its underlying infrastructure
• Use the Site for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion and without notice.

5. User-Generated Content

Some features (such as polls and, in the future, comments or forum posts) allow users to submit content. You retain ownership of anything you submit, but by submitting content you grant MeowDB a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of the Site.

You are solely responsible for any content you submit. MeowDB does not endorse user-submitted content and disclaims liability for it. We may remove any user content at any time for any reason.

6. Intellectual Property

The MeowDB name, logo, custom emojis, original written content, and the design and code of the Site are the property of MeowDB. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without permission.

Game data, item icons, monster sprites, and other MapleStory assets shown on the Site are the property of Nexon Co., Ltd. and are used for non-commercial fan commentary and reference purposes. If you are a rights holder and believe content on the Site infringes your rights, please send a notice to contact@meowdb.com including (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) the URL where the material appears, and (c) your contact information. We will respond promptly.

7. Disclaimers

MeowDB is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the game data shown is accurate or current. Game data is sourced from publicly available datamines and may differ from the live game.

Use of the Site is at your own risk. Information on MeowDB is for entertainment and reference only and should not be relied upon for any decision affecting your real-world finances, health, or legal standing.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MeowDB and its operator(s) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Site contains advertising provided by third-party networks (see our Privacy Policy) and may link to third-party websites. MeowDB is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site or service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Site will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property) shall survive.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any disputes arising from your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Canada.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
